• Check if your app is updated to the latest version for the promotion period. This is important because algorithms on Google Play and AppStore recalculates the app's positions after each update. Hence, you can lose positions if the app is updated in the middle of the promotion.
• Group the keywords by relevance, meaning, and potential users' intention. After that, pick some groups for each region in order to reduce your spendings. This is important as some keywords are really expensive to promote in particular countries. You can spend up to $5000 in order to push "casino" to the top in the USA, but you can boost your app for "casino app for free" with fewer spendings within a short period of time as this keyword is less competitive.
• If your app doesn't rank in a particular region for the keywords, start a 4-5 days campaign with direct installs. 50-200 downloads in total must be enough.
• Once your app ranks for the keywords in the needed country, set a keywords campaign. We advise contacting our support team or your personal manager in order to create an efficient promotional campaign.
• At this stage, your app ranks for the relevant keywords already, and all the necessary changes have been done by now. Check once again if you are satisfied with the title and subtitle of your app, so you will not have to do any changes in the middle of the promotion.
• You can promote only those keywords, for which your app ranks already. Make sure and check the position of your app in the section My keywords.
• Start with a kind of checking campaign. It is hard to predict the exact amount of downloads needed for each keyword, so with such a campaign you can check how keywords react to promotion. Track the changes in positions every day. Many different factors influence the rank of each keyword in each country, but we can help with 3-4 of them only. Hence, checking campaign will help us to define the strategy for your particular app.
• For keywords ranking on 150-200 positions and higher, set 4-5 days campaign with 10-15 installs daily. Keywords on lower positions may fall out of rank on the second day but will return in a while.
